Have you ever gone through a desert? Not literally... but have you ever gone through a really dry (and sometimes heated) time in your life? Was there something you longed for so much and you couldn't even see (let alone understand) the way God was working? I see God working in my life here and there. But I don't understand where He is in relationship to one particular thing. I feel like I've waited forever for Him to reveal His plan to me. I feel like maybe He decided not to even pay attention to this prayer of mine. Where is He? What is He thinking? What's the plan for me? Did He forget about me?
The Bible is full of promises that remind me I need not worry about this...
Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7
I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. John 14:18
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you. Psalm 32:8
Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass ... Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him. Psalm 37:4,7

David was SO close to God, but often felt like God was hiding from him. Maybe (?) it's a really good time to start journaling about the times you knew God WAS with you and interacting with you? Recently I've been forgetting. This is a good reminder for me, too. :) I LOVE YOU, SISTER!
it helps me to remember, too, that i really will be on the other side of the desert and when i'm there, the plan will be so much clearer.
ReplyDeleteit helps me to pray to know what i'm suppose to be learning through this time, and i see my prayer answered in ways i hadn't considered.
