Catching Up

I thought I was going to be in the emergency room yesterday. I post-poned it as much as I could. I woke up yesterday morning to take Jeff to work (I needed the car). I was so sleepy, more than usual. So I planned to come back home and nap for awhile before I had to get up and get ready for a VBS meeting at noon. I napped, but when I got up, I was having sharp pains through my abdomen... it felt deep, like deep inside me. I told my mom and had her all worried, so she wanted me to go to the emergency room. I tried to hold off... I promised I'd take Ibuprofen and lay down and see what happened. When I got up, the sharp pains were gone, but I was still really achy. I just laid around the house (canceled all my plans- no meeting, no errands, and no Little M) when Jeff called, I asked him to come home. Yes, he was without a car... my dad drove out to pick him up. When they got home, they asked if I should go to emergency. Again, I wanted to try to stick it out. I continued to lay around the house. Jeff was here, and that was comforting to me.

My sister had a dinner for all of us so we could all be together a little bit before my grandma moves. I wasn't sure I'd make it. In fact, I was in between going there and going to the ER. I chose family. (Of course! You're talking about Sarah... the most stubborn girl in the world!) Jeff and I went over to enjoy some supper, some silly nieces, and help Grandma pack a little bit. I came home, Jeff had treated me to ice cream (which of course heals pretty much everything, right?), and then went to bed early. Oh! Did I mention my mom made me take my lasix and wear a girdle? Mmhmmm... that too.

I was very uncomfortable all night long. If I laid on my left side, I thought I'd die. If I laid on my back, I was fine. My right side was okay too, actually. I slept for about 11 hours. When I did get up, I felt very bloated... no more shooting pains, though, which is good. I'm sort of just taking it easy now. Not sure if I'll do Awana tonight or orchestra tomorrow night. I want to take it easy until my GI appointment on Tuesday. Maybe when I'm there, they'll be able to help me out a little bit.

I have had several people ask me about making my own laundry soap. I would be happy to share the recipe with you all, but I can't take credit for it. It was something I researched online and tried out. It's works!

Here's the recipe:
Get an empty laundry detergent container
Borax
Washing Soda
Boiling Water
Bar Soap (I'm told that any kind is fine)

While you boil the water, use a cheese grater to shred the bar soap. Use about 1/8-1/4 of the bar.
When the water is boiling, add the shredded soap.
When it's melted, pour the hot water into your container (use a funnel, and be VERY careful- it's very hot!).
Add about 1/8 cup of Borax
Add about 1/4 cup of Washing Soda

Mix it up with a paint stick or something similar.
Let it sit (it will turn into a gel) and cool off.
When you're ready to use it, stir it before each use, and only use 1 cup per load
It won't make your clothes smell especially great... it doesn't have artificial scents to it. But it WILL clean them. I use scented fabric sheets, which smell great!

Oh, and just to let you know, Sunday before last, Jeffrey and I were out working in the yard. It was a gorgeous day. I think it was about 70 degrees out! I was out in a t-shirt and jeans. Ugh! I love that weather!

And this past Sunday, this is what the weather was like:

Please remember to pray for Baby Stellan. His Mom's blog is the one advertised on my blog. She was on the news! Visit her blog for more info! Keep praying for this precious miracle!
