Dreaming

Well, we haven't even turned in our paperwork yet for our foster care and adoption process. Hopefully we can get that in this week.

But I did go down into the basement and got out the bedding and some of the bedroom stuff that we'll be using in there. I have it laying out in the bedroom, trying to decide what paint color looks best. The walls are blue now, and we've talked about keeping it. But I'm just not sure. If you have any ideas, let us know.

We are probably lowering our age span down to 0-5 yrs. This is for many reasons. One reason is to keep things safe right now. When children are in "the system" so-to-speak, they often have a lot of street smarts. The older they are, the more they can do. So we want to wait until we have a larger house before we open it up to older children. The other reason is because we are blessed with my wonderful family who is giving us a crib and changing table (they match!) from IKEA, that has been in the family for a few years. My sister is using it for her kids right now, but they're working on getting bunk beds. The cool thing about this crib is that it turns into a toddler day bed! So somebody that is 5 yrs old will easily be able to use it. We won't have to mess around with moving furniture in and out of that room.

I am adding a photo of the bedding... let me know your thoughts on a paint color. The blue of the walls (see photo) IS in the bedding, but there is also a teal color that dominates the blue. And we have a wall hanging that matches and is green framed and yellow duckling inside (also in picture). The curtain we have is white and yellow gingham (there is a lot of gingham in the bedding). So... dream with us and let us know what a good color might be for the walls.

  1. I think you should leave it blue. But then, that's because I'm too lazy to help repaint the room!

  2. I like the teal color. Or, of course, yellow (always a favorite for me). And I'll be happy to help paint. Forget that Vic guy. ;)

  3. Thanks, Dad. Glad you're so willing to help... jk of course. For those of you that don't know- Daddy painted our kitchen and bathroom and also some of our mudroom. And we have high ceilings... so... he's a good man!
I like your ideas, Jess! I was thinking green, but when I talked to Mom, she suggested yellow too. Teal might be neat, tho. So I don't know. We'll see!

  4. JESS won't paint the ceilings, unless she has a ladder.
