Thankfulness...

Many people (my husband included) get annoyed because everywhere you look there are Christmas decorations and it's not even Thanksgiving. I guess I understand how people can feel like our society is just skipping over Thanksgiving because of their rush to decorate or play Christmas music. But to me, the holiday season begins for Thanksgiving and ends after the new year comes in. Anybody else feel like that? Like they all just go together...

I have (complained) said that this year was the worst year of my life. I think it's pretty much tied with the year 1998. :) So much has happened and it's felt like a whirl wind.

But our God is awesome, is He not? He can take ashes and turn it into something beautiful. He can restore our hearts to be like His. He can wipe away our tears and replace them with His goodness.

Instead of whining about the troubles we had this year, I want to name some of my blessings:

* Family
* Husband (he's family, but when we say family, we refer to each of the families we grew up in)
* Cats (yes, they are blessings...)
* House
* Jeff's job (money to pay bills)
* My SSD income (money to buy groceries)
* Food
* Clothing
* Car (it runs!)
* Friends
* God's Word
* Church
* Internet (to keep in touch with friends that I don't see a lot)
* Health/healing
* Comfort (bed, blankets, pillows, couches, chairs, etc...)
* Electricity
* Gas to cook or run the heater
* Insurance
* Salvation

I'd love to hear some of the things you're thanking God for this year.

  2. When we first moved here, I was nervous about being financially dependent on God... waiting for Him to prompt people to give to the mission on our behalf (silly but true). But not anymore.

    I'm thankful that each month we have had enough money! Usually we even had MORE than enough!!! If you looked at the committed financial support we have, it is about 7/8 of what we need to pay our bills, but every month we receive enough to pay every bill, so we're never scared!

    God has provided like crazy for us! And if this house works out, it looks like He'll be saving us more money in the scheme of things! He is so good.
