I WILL Take a Stand

I hate controversy. I hate debate. In those circumstances, I'm usually the one to slump lower in my chair and hope not to be noticed... or the one who sneaks out the back door as quickly and quietly as I can. I would rather we had world peace... where pretty birds always sang, everybody helped each other, everything was right and nothing was wrong...

But it's not that way.

And I'm not in a class room NOR a work environment.

So I'm not quiet. Because I can use my writing to hide behind. And I do.

I have been open and honest about my beliefs (aka what the Bible says) on Facebook. I think I have a whole lotta haters now.

For those of you that don't know- it's "National Coming Out Week." Like- come out of the closet... or, even simpler put- come out and tell everybody you're gay.

I don't hate gay people. I don't hate druggies. I don't hate alcoholics. I don't hate murderers. I don't hate thieves. I don't blasphemers. What I DO hate is their sin and I don't want them to be ignorant about it.

So- on FB, I posted two Bible verses:
You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination (Leviticus 18:22)
and
For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another… (Romans 1:26-27).

I never said "and so I stand here judging you all..." or "and therefore- I hate all gay people." I didn't say anything of the sort. I simply posted those verses and had a whole handful of people get their underwear in a bunch over it!
