What is this on Facebook about Breast Cancer Awareness month? If you're on Facebook, you know that last year "we" as women were supposed to post the color of our bras to "proclaim" (?) BCA... I, foolishly, took part. Why do I say foolishly? Because I had several friends tell me it was immoral and immodest of me to do that- it made men (some of my guy friends) even imagine a girl in a bra- that was not married to him. I felt bad. I felt guilty for making a brother stumble. Even if it was all in the name of fun- I wasn't thinking and I was being immodest.
This year, they are supposed to raise awareness by posting where they like to keep their purses. But you can't simply say "I keep my purse in the car." or "I keep my purse under the bed." No- they have a format you need to follow (or what? The BCA police will be knocking at your door?). You're supposed to say things like this "I like it in the car." or "I like it under the bed." And you KNOW that is making guys think all kinds of (perverted) things. Believe me- a couple of my guy friends have said so! I'm NOT making this up.
So I take a stand. I stand up for myself. I stand up for all Christians. And I stand against the crowd- in hopes that somebody will hear me and somebody will agree.
What do I get? I got a few people giving me a thumbs up ("liking" my comments). But I got a lot of people yelling at me- people I don't even know! People telling me I'm prude, to get my mind out of the gutter, etc... And some of these people are CHRISTIANS!?!
*enough said*
PS: Did you listen to my "Mean Girls" clip on my previous post? That was from this past week's Bible study topic. LOVED IT! I love Beth Moore and I love how REAL and HONEST she is.
