Birthday Anniversaries

Jeffrey's birthday was yesterday, August 31st. He sweetly reminded me that a year ago on his birthday we met with our adoption agency (ECFA) for the first time. And then 5 years ago on his birthday he had asked me to marry him. Aww... sweet memories.


For Jeff's birthday dinner, I found a recipe online for crock pot chicken. You lay bacon strips over the chicken and cook it (you add a few other things too). Then you cook shell pasta and drain it. Add that to the slow cooker (with some seasonings) and cook the entire thing another 15 minutes. Chicken. Bacon. Pasta. I knew I couldn't go wrong. Those are three of his favorite things. (And for me? The only sodium in it was the bacon!) I think he really liked the meal. So of course, that made me happy.

I had also made him German chocolate cupcakes... his request. He was able to share them with his Bible study group last night.

I think he had a good birthday, despite the fact I was sort of just laying around all evening. I promised him I was taking him out to eat once I felt better... can't wait!
