Dating, Changes, and Adoption...

I was supposed to meet a friend- actually, my former boss- for lunch today.  I was running a tad late, getting there about 8 minutes after I was supposed to be.  I waited around for 20 minutes, and she never came.  I was kind of bummed... either she had come and I was too late, or something had come up and she wasn't able to make it.  Fortunately, Jeff works near the Panera where I was meeting my friend.  So I drove over to Jeff's work just in time for his lunch break... and I took HIM out to lunch at Panera.  It was super fun.  It felt like we were on a date- like the old days.  He told me I looked pretty.  We talked over lunch.  I even asked him about his future plans with his job now and his plans for school and another job down the road.  Then he had to return to work, so I kissed him goodbye and drove away- just like the old days.  But it was so nice.  I think God had this all planned out.  While I missed not seeing my friend and her baby, I still had the chance to go on a date with my handsome husband.

Oh... and those plans we discussed?  Just pray for him.  He's making some big choices right now.  He's not leaving his current job yet.  It's a good job, steady and reliable.  But he feels like God is calling him to something else.  So pray that we listen closely to what that is and that we follow God's leading.  We're pretty sure this includes going back to school (him, not me- LOL!), so pray about that too.  God has given Jeffrey an amazing gift of wisdom as well as some other wonderful gifts- compassion, leadership, teaching... I am excited to see what He has in store for our family.

As for the adoption process... it's still comin' along.  Our birthparent letter is just about done being revised.  We're working on our portfolio, which should be done in the next month.  And we have some trainings to finish up.  Then we wait.  We're getting so excited.  We'll keep you posted on that as well...
