Chile and Haiti

My heart goes out to Chile.

I got an email from World Vision about helping Chile, financially. I am getting my Social Security money this coming week as well as our tax return. I think I will be sending some money out for them as soon as we have money to send. But would you like to help? Please do. Just click this and it'll take you to the page where you can donate money.

The news is covered with the possible (likely?) Tsunami that is supposed to hit Hawaii because of the earthquake. Wow. Another reason to pray.

And let's not forget Haiti. If you'd like to donate to that relief through World Vision, please do here.

Please remember all these people in your prayers.

I got an email from my dad the other day from some of the missionaries our church supports (Paul and Karen Volrath)... here's a reason to PRAISE GOD!

Dear family & friends,
Dr. Bill & Mary Markle served at our Wycliffe Bible Translators technical center in North Carolina for many years. Dr Bill has been assisting in Haiti . The following is from a message Mary sent recently to their former co-workers at our NC center:
"On Sunday Bill sent an encouraging email after going to an English-speaking church, which was 70% Haitian and 30% Western. He went with his Haitian translator and a man from the camp. I'll share an excerpt from it: 'It was about 2.5 hrs.long, with over half the time in praise and worship. Haiti has spent Fri., Sat. and today in prayer and fasting. I doubt that made the U.S. news media but it is truly remarkable. The people have dedicated themselves to following God. The President of the country, President Preval, went on TV and declared he had become a Christian through this tragedy. That is a first in Haiti . It is just all so remarkable. In our own neighborhood we hear Christian songs playing all the time. On the streets, lines of people coming or going to church can be seen singing as they go. We all felt so spiritually renewed afterwards. Joy and strength have been renewed.'"
"...praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints..." Eph 6:18
With great praise and joy, and still more prayer,
PAUL V.
