Random Acts of Sarahness...

Well, I've remained sick (off and on) this entire time. But I decided not to let it get me down. I have to not worry about letting everybody down all the time. Life is going on.

My mom and our friend, Mike, brought Grandpa up to Minnesota on Friday. He is in a home in Winona... it's supposed to be a good home. , especially for Alzheimer's patients. My mom has been calling every day to check on him, and she plans on continuing to do so. She is quite amazing. Of course it hurts her to let him go, she is still emotional about it... but she is such a trooper and she's handling it so well. We all will really miss him around here, but it's good for him to be somewhere where trained professionals can take good care of him. And we can go visit him any time.

Am I behind on getting out Christmas decorations? It seems like everywhere I go I am seeing lights on houses, Christmas trees inside of homes, etc... I was begging Jeff to let me put our stuff up. Baby steps, I guess. We took fall stuff down today. That's a good first step, huh?

We had our pastoral meeting/interview at ECFA yesterday. It went really well... he said he highly recommends us. We also had our second home study yesterday. That went pretty well too. Just a few more steps in the right direction!

Please be praying with and for us about our adoption. We still aren't sure how God plans to provide the money, but we know He will. We are also hoping that my social security disability comes through soon. That money will help the with adoption fees and other things as well. So please be praying about that too!

I have an appointment set up for December 10th to see the surgeon that removed my hernias. I'm going to ask her if my fluid is down enough that she can repair the hernia in my belly button. It is painful, and not so much fun. And I really think my fluid has gone down a lot. I was "twisting" today to try to see how sloshy it is in there... and really, it's not too sloshy! I don't remember the last time it was this good!

Thanksgiving is just around the corner... I am looking forward to having both of my "non-Elgin" sisters back home as well as our cousin, Sally. It has been a very long time since the entire "Rugh family" has been together. I hope we can get a family photo!

I have a lot to be thankful for. However, I don't hesitate to thank God for all of our blessings on a regular basis. I don't need a holiday to permit or prompt me to thank Him. But I am very thankful. And I have much to be thankful for.
