These are special people in our lives for a variety of reasons. But one of the reasons is because they are the ones that suggested our adoption agency to us. They used the same agency when they went through the process. (Several years later, and 2 children later, they are great mentors and listening ears for us in our process.)
Now, this visit was very nice. Company was wonderful, food was (as I mentioned) amazing, and the kids were adorable, well behaved, and very entertaining. But I need to tell you a few things.
1) Abigail, their oldest daughter, let me know that she prays for our baby every night before she goes to bed. She knows she was adopted, and she is so excited that Jeff and I are adopting and that we're going through the same agency that her parents used! (FYI: I have Abigail at my Cubbies table in Awana. And ever since she started last year, I have called her "Abby Cadabby.")
2) Abigail picked out and wrapped a gift for us. (Should I mention it was in a Victoria's Secret bag?) It was a teether/rattle that she had when she was a baby. And she even "decorated" it with a pony tail holder.
Thank you, Abby Cadabby! We love it, and we know that our baby will love it too! (And I'm pretty sure the baby will love YOU, because we sure do!)
3) The family was getting ready to go home, and Abigail's mom mentioned that she liked something we had done on our porch. She asked if we use the porch much for sitting or reading. I answered her that I don't really do a lot of that out there, but sometimes. Then Abby asked "Do you ever sit in this rocking chair and wonder of babies?" I have to admit- I don't think I've ever sat in that rocking chair to wonder of babies... but I sure do wonder of babies a lot.
What a blessing to have this family over, and what a blessing they are to our baby-to-be.
I really like this! AND I like your song, too! :) So sweet. "Wonder of Babies..." They are a wonder, huh?
