Meow

Little M has a hard time pronouncing a lot of things. One of these things is her "r's" and her "th's." So, it's especially adorable when we're counting and she says "One, two, flee, fowa..." It cracks her up! She says right away "I just said flee."

Well, one night, we were waiting for her mom and just killing some time and we had been pointing out the numbers on the clock. She knew some of them... even the three! And of course, she told me it was "flee." And then of course, she laughed at herself.

I used this opportunity to work with her on her "r" sound. I asked her to say words that start with "r" such as rabbit, race, and road. She was shy, but she tried. Then I asked her to say f-r-ee." And she hesitated. She wouldn't do it. I asked again a couple times. Then I said, "Well, can you say ROAR! like a lion?" And she laughed. I said "Do it! Say rooooooooooooooooaaaaar!" She laughed again. I prompted her again to copy me, and said "Roooooooaaar!" She looked at me innocently and replied "Meow."

This is the goofball that we love so much...

  1. Aww! That's cute. The boys that I nanny for can't say their "r's" either. I feel bad because I can't understand what the 4 year old is saying sometimes so he gets kind of frustrated when I ask him to repeat something. Oops. He asked me to turn up the volume of the tv and he said, "can you turn up tha vwauume?" sooo cute.

Thanks for putting up Weird Al songs. They crack me up. :-) Old school MC Hammer!!
