I'm Baaaaack (And Better Than Ever?)

Here is a lovely photo of what I look like today. (Yes, I do still have my sense of humor after all this...)

...And yes, I do mean ALL THIS.

Was the surgery at all what I expected? No. Was it laparascopic? No. Was it only about an hour long? No. Was my family worried? Yes. Do I look beautiful and skinny now? Um, see for yourself!

I guess my lower hernias were both way bigger than they thought. So, they did have to make incisions for each of those (three incisions total). And I am swelling terribly on my left side. I am in way more pain than I had imagined I'd be in.

Let me explain this to you:

This is facing me... so my left is your right. The bulge on the right side of the picture is my swelling. The vertical line up by my shirt is my scar from heart surgeries... old news. My belly button is all pinkish red and has a small incision inside of it. Then, on either side of my tummy are my other incisions. I can already see some discoloration for bruising. Maybe I'll post a picture later, when it's bruised some more.

They did remove 2 liters of fluid. And hopefully, I can keep it down with my diuretic... we'll see...

So... please be praying. It does hurt a lot.

Jeff is a very good care-taker. He was up with me off and on all night last night. He's a good man, that Charlie Brown. (That is one of the nicknames I gave him awhile back... and just for that reason... because he is a good man.)
