I was talking to my mom today and for some reason, something came up about Uncle Mark singing this song. Oh yes! It was about the "butter box." When Mom and Uncle Mark were younger, their family had a plastic tub with a lid for butter. Well, somebody left it on the stove, and Mom noticed it was melted. So she said "Somebody melted the butter box." Uncle Mark said "It's not a box. What shape is a box? It's a square. Is that a square? Does that tub look like a box?" Then, as she's telling me about this incident, Mom went into singing "Oh Lord, It's Hard to be Humble" which I guess is a song that Uncle Mark used to sing. I told her I'd look it up online, which I did. And I have now paid a tribute to Uncle Mark by adding it on my blog playlist. May the uncle with pretty eyes be honored in his humbleness (as he melts the butter box).
I felt like a picture of him was appropriate. This is the best I can do... but speaking of being humble... Uncle Mark was featured in this magazine! Woo hoo!
