This Week...

Evie took this lovely picture of me... who knows what I was doing... at least I spared you some of the other choices.
The chef Evie. She did a great job measuring all by herself.

Yes, Aunt Sisi let her sit on the couch, eat goldfish crackers, and watch Dora. It was a special day.

Making her macaroni necklace for Awana. She did a great job and hardly needed my help.

Playing the computer... she's basically a wiz at this. Who needs Aunt Sisi!?!

This week has kept me busy...
I babysat for my friend's kids both Wednesday and Thursday mornings. I am going to continue to do this on more of a routine basis... twice a week or something like that. Her kids are 2 yrs and 1 yr old. They are adorable, however, I am afraid her 1 yr old daughter does not like being here. Her first day here she cried most of the time. If we distracted her with a toy, she'd be okay, but then cry again like she just remembered she was still sad. My friend opted not to leave her the second day since she was just running errends. Her 2 yr old did great both days. He's a pro already!

Other than babysitting, I've been keeping up with the house (which is harder than I thought it would be). We are only 2 people (and I guess 2 cats)... and I can't keep up! Yikes! I was picking up the house for a game night we hosted last night, and realized the house was actually in need of much more cleaning than just that! The carpet needs it, the tile floors need it, the walls, and pretty much everything! How does this happen so quickly!?!

I've also been volunteering for ECDC (Elgin Christian Development Corporation). I love it! I would normally do child care during meetings, but when no children are there, I do office work. I was there both Tuesday night and Thursday afternoon. Both times it was office work. I enjoyed it, though!

I have had my nieces over here and there. Eloise had her turn last week so Evie took her turn this week. She got home and told her mom "Mom! I watched TV, played on the computer, and ate chocolate!" My sister said "Wow! All the things I don't let you do!" Ha ha ha ha... of course, that wasn't TOTALLY the truth about what we had done that day. She left out some other things... like making a necklace for Awana... and like playing a Memory game with some new cards I had gotten from Usborne Books... baking cookies together... playing with the children I babysit... running Uncle Jeff's lunch to him at work... ya know... those other little things. She did watch a Dora video I have. And she did eat a cookie we had made. And yes, she did play Purbles Place on the computer. So she did tell the truth. Cute girl. Oh! She took pictures of me and the cats! I will have to add some of those pictures.

  1. Hmmm...maybe Evie can give you some pointers if you get one of those photography jobs!!!

You do know that I wasn't at all upset about the fun, "forbidden" things you did with Evie, right? I'm so glad she gets to have special times with you!
