Dead End
The doctor's appointment yesterday was sort of a waste of time. They probably should've requested that I had my ultrasound sent there BEFORE I got there. And when I did get to see the doctor (almost an hour after my appointment), she wasn't sure why I had come in. I told her I was sent there because of the gall stones and the fluid in my belly. Well, gall stones are on your gall bladder and your gall bladder is NOT where I was having the pain, nor is it where I was retaining fluid. So she thinks it's all not related. She did blood work to check my liver and other things. She was the second doctor to tell me that fluid in the belly is a sign of heart failure, liver failure, or cancer. Well... we all know I do not have heart failure. My heart has been looking really good the past few visits. So that's out of the question. Liver? Cancer? They both sound bad. What I hope to find out (soon) is if having a foreign object in your body (such as a pacemaker) can make you retain fluid. It sure did when I got my first pacemaker! I looked like I was 9 months pregnant back then! Seems like every time I get a pacemaker change, this fluid gets a little more annoying. I'm going to talk to my cardiologist and ask if it might be the case. With me, anything can be possible. I was the first person they saw at Childrens Memorial Hospital that retained fluid in her belly. Usually people retain it around their heart and lungs. Not to mention... my pacemaker is right below my rib cage- very near to my belly. I feel like we're at a dead end here. But I'm pretty sure there is a small path I can work my way through... and I plan on doing so.

Hang in there! We love you!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I thought of something that I hadn't before, when we were discussing your dr. visit:
ReplyDeleteMAYBE the 1-hr wait was because there was a very urgent need for the dr to be with someone else. (oh, well, that doesn't help much, i guess)
love your blog, sare bear
