Home Sweet Home

We're here... we made it! Ha ha ha...
It was crazy packing and living at my mom's, and out of suitcases for a bunch of days while we transitioned. But here we are, at our new home. We love it. I don't have pictures right now... but I will try to get some soon.
We have some interesting things to work through at the new house... first of all, I "flooded" the basement our first day moving in. The previous owner warned me about the washer... that I need to slowly let the water out because the basin sink it empties into is not large enough. Well, I thought I was listening for it to be ready to drain, but I was preoccupied in the kitchen with some of our friends (that helped us move) and suddenly, we heard water pouring out... and I screamed and ran down... not in time to stop it, of course. I for sure learned my lesson... and I've got a whole system down now when I do laundry. However, my dad is working on a way to route the water through piping and out into the sewer, rather than into the sink. Bless him!
Speaking of learning lessons... I learned how to work a fuse box. Ha ha ha... our house is an older home that has very few electrical outlets. Sometimes this can be a problem. For example, I cannot have the crock pot, washer, radio, fridge, and vacuum all plugged in and running at the same time... that whole section of the house lost power. But I quickly learned how to fix that, and I'm being more careful now. Another lesson I'm learning is how to effectively do dishes in a sink that is lower and also not so deep... I was getting water everywhere our first or second day here. My mom laughed at me, and finally put my rug under me. Then, as I continued to try, and continued to get sprayed with water... I just shouted "I CAN'T LIVE HERE!" which really made her laugh more.
Over all, we absolutely love the house. It has a beautiful back yard that I LOVE to be in. The previous owners have done a wonderful job with it (which is great, since I don't do gardening/landscaping things...). The house is so cute and feels like a mansion compared to the apartment we were in before. And if you saw that apartment... you understand. God has truly blessed us with this home.
Keep checking back for more news and pictures some time soon.
Oh! And happy 4th! God bless America... and also... America, bless God! =)
