Our Weekend...

Wow! What a weekend!

Saturday morning, Jeff and I were FINALLY able to go back to the nursing home to volunteer. I hadn't been there in 2 months, because of my surgery. They were having a car show of old cars for the men at the nursing home... kind of for Father's Day weekend. They do this every year. This was our 4th year there. The cars were really neat to look at and even learn about. We were able to take the residents out and around to look at the cars. What a beautiful day it was for that!

After the car show, we picked up our nieces, Evie and Eloise, and took them to Wing Park for Glo Fest... which was put on by area churches. Glo stands for GODS LOVE OUTSIDE. It was all free... tons of free food, face painting, dancing (lots of Christian rap!), and they even handed things out to us... the girls got coloring books and a pencil. Jeff and I got a t-shirt! It was really fun... and again, it was a beautiful day for it.

In the evening, Jeff and I returned to Glo Fest for a concert they had. We didn't really enjoy that as much as we thought we would... but we also didn't stay for the entire thing.

After the concert we headed out to Carol Stream to spend some time with Jeff's dad for Father's Day. It was nice to relax and be with family.

On Sunday evening, we celebrated Father's Day with my dad and grandpa and our whole family. We had fun being "hosted" by Evie.

Now we start another week... and today marks the 2 week countdown! We will be moving in 2 weeks from today! Things are slowly progressing... I didn't do anything over the weekend, so this week I'm trying to get more done. I am packing packing packing... enough to have bubble wrap and tape coming out of my ears!

I just can't wait to be in the new house. =)
