Things are coming together for us as we count down the days until we move! (Today it is 18 more days!) People have been so great in helping us prepare. And we're really seeing God work in amazing ways. Just the fact that He didn't let us move into the house that had all the problems... that was a HUGE blessing because now we found this cute little house that needs no work, and is adorable!
So, after my previous post, Jeff's aunt emailed us. She has a lawn mower that she offered us! What a HUGE blessing. =)
A friend of mine dropped off a bunch of boxes for us yesterday... I of course have already packed a couple of them! =) That was so exciting for me.
Another friend is returning to Elgin from his internship in Utah... and he said we can have his boxes as well!
Packing everything is so weird to me... but I like knowing I'm sorting thru everything... what we really should save and what we can pass on to others. It'll be a fresh start at the new house... nothing "unkown" hidden in the junk drawer or in cabinets.
Jeff reminded me that at the new house, our computer will be at a desk in the corner of the dining room. The computer is our way of watching some TV and DVDs... ha ha ha! So he asked me if we could get a TV. I've been really trying not to for so long, because I don't want the TV to be something we turn to in our boredom. But I thought maybe if we DID have a TV and limited it to only DVD/video use, then it might be alright. I told him I'd keep my eyes peeled on Freecycle.org for a TV too, but that might end up being something we buy. (Which would be fine, since we are getting everything else for free!)
I guess, too, we'd kind of like wicker furniture (bench and chairs?) for our porch... but that is something we'll just have to watch for on freecycle or after season to go on sale. That's not a huge need right now... just something we've thought about... and I know things will all fall into place once we're there.
One thing I am really going to look forward to is doing my laundry in my home! It's been convenient here, the laundry room is right outside our apartment door... but I don't like sharing with other people (waiting my turn, rushing for other people to use it) and I also haven't liked the fact that people have stopped my laundry while it was going, or spending at least $2.00 a load! CRAZY! (I LOVE doing laundry, so I get really worked up about this!)
Well, speaking of laundry... I have to go get some done.
