December 6th- Advent

Last week's piece of the advent was "hope." How do you view Jesus' birth as your hope?

This answer, for me, is easy. Jesus being born means Jesus dying (33 yrs later)... not just dying... but dying for my sins, so that He would take the punishment for my sin so that I didn't have to. Because of that, I have hope for my future. Sure- life on earth can be crazy, cruel, and unfair... but I know that when I die I will be with Jesus- my Lord and Savior- forever. And I like that feeling of hope.

Which brings me to the next part of my question... This week's piece of the advent was "peace." How do you view Jesus' birth as bringing you peace?

Not only do I have hope for my future, but I have peace too. I don't need to worry about tomorrow... or next week... or next year even! I have a God that knows me, cares about me, and has me in His hands. All I need to do is let myself rely on Him and it will bring peace into my heart and life.
