The party was jam packed with fun games, yummy cake, some spilled punch, some wrestling, some crocodile tears, and a very cute birthday girl.
I was pretty worn out after the party and I also had some pain in my abdomen. So when I got home, I took two Tylenol 3 pills and called it a night. The medicine actually made me feel nauseated. I had a rough time sleeping that night, and therefore slept past my alarm and we missed church. It was okay, because I was still feeling the effects of the medicine. But I don't like to miss church...
It's sort of that time of year again... when you start thinking about Christmas and the other holidays and celebrations. I am getting excited, since I am planning to attempt hand making my gifts this year. We'll see how well that goes. But the other night I asked Jeff what his thoughts were for Christmas cards. Should we do a letter or just a card? Or both? And last year we sent a photo, so this year, we really don't have to. I started to realize that if we wrote a letter for our Christmas cards, it would be fairly depressing. The major happenings this year were:
* Sarah had her 3rd hernia surgery in January.
* Sarah's grandpa passed away in January.
* Jeff had a "procedure" in the spring and just about a month later was in the ER for something else.
* We had a birthmother choose us in May. But in June, when she had the baby, she changed her mind.
* We adopted a little black cat in the spring- somewhat because of a guilty feeling the vet gave us, but also because she was a sweetie. (She loves us... it's other people and the other cats she hates...)
* We didn't get to go on vacation for our anniversary this year. We DID, however, go on a little getaway the week that we "lost" our baby.
* Sarah had another (the 4th!) hernia surgery in August.
* We said goodbye to Jeff's brother- who left for the Army in September.
So yeah... none of that sounds Christmas-card worthy. We might just send out generic cards with no notes... keep it simple. I'm unsure what to do, really, at this point.
Oh well... that's all, Folks!

I told you...make your cards. The no one expects you to go throuhg all the trouble of making the card AND writing in it. Plus it's super fun!
