Voting Season

So... my friend, Tina, is super political. She's up on all the stuff that you're supposed to know as a US citizen. Actually- between her, my dad, and my husband- I learn a lot (well, a lot more than I would if it were must me)! So she reminded me in her blog that we need to register to vote. That in turn, prompted me to comment with this:

Like, if you're registered to vote- that's like for life, right? Do I have register a lot? Because I think I'm good to go, because I have a voter card. But I just want to double check. Because believe it or not, I have done a little bit of research, and I'm picking who to vote for. Which reminds me- can I take a small post-it in the voting booth with me so I remember who all to vote for?
So, there ya go, people- laugh all you want. I am 2 months shy of turning 29 and I haven't a clue. But feel free to enlighten me, okay? Thanks!

  1. Don't feel bad. Registering to vote is for life. (I'm about 95% sure of that) Just make sure your card is for the place you currently live. That way you know the correct districts and everything. Feel free to take a post it note in. My dad usually saves the newspaper for us and we take that in to remember who to vote for. Or my mom gets suggestions via e-mail I think for people that have better values and she usually prints out a list for us to refer to.

I only know as much I do about voting cause my dad loves politics. I'm proud of you for wanting to study who to vote for. I feel every American who is able and especially Christians should study up on the politicians and go out and vote.

  2. (Ahem...)  Like Frances, perhaps your dad could assist you in your political education?!  Merely a suggestion.

  4. Here is a website where you type in your address, and it will tell you who the candidates are for your area. You can then read about them and decide who to vote for. And yes you can absolutely take a note card with your choices in with you.

  5. Here is another one that will tell you your polling place, and you can even print a sample ballot with your choices marked
