Fall is pretty much here. It is quite chilly out today. And I love it! It's been slightly difficult for me as I've been unable to wear normal people clothes. I'm still swollen in my abdomen, so I've been wearing gym shorts or sweats. But I did manage to fit into some gouchos yesterday and then I attempted the stretchy denim pair of jeans I have today- and it fit! I feel so, so... I guess I just feel so normal! :)
This week has been crazy busy. I have seen many of my friends this week and I really like it. On Monday, my friend Beth stopped over. We just chatted and she told me about her honeymoon in the Smokey Mountains (they saw a bear just feet away!). On Tuesday, my friend Tina stopped over (with McDonalds for lunch- fries and frappes). We had fun talking and catching up as well. Her life always sounds more exciting than mine, so I like hearing about it. On Wednesday I met that same friend, Tina, at a scrapbooking store. It was an experience. Who knew they made so many scrapbooking things!?! Craziness, People! Later on that same day I met up with another friend, Samantha. She, too, never has a dull moment so I loved hearing about her life lately. However, she has been unable to find a job since she graduated from Moody Bible Institute, and she will need to go back home (China) because of it. I am so sad to see her leave. She has been such a blessing, such an encouragement to me. Ugh. I am praying (very much) that a job will open up. Today, Thursday, I met up with my friend Frances. We got to catch up a bit too (again, her life is super exciting, so I enjoy hearing about it). It was great fun to see friends and to be social again.
Oh! On Tuesday night I went to a Bible study at Elgin Community Church. It's sort of a sister church to the church I attend. We do a lot of things with them and I've met some amazing people that attend that church. (Secret: I have been considering attending that church, but Jeffrey and I are just praying about that right now... I do want to at least visit it sometime.) The Bible study was amazing. We're going through Beth Moore's study on Esther. I am super excited to do this because I already had the book from my wonderful sister, Molly. She told the study was amazing and that I had to do it. Well, I peaked at the book and felt overwhelmed, so I never did it. Hooray for God's working and planning to allow me into a study that is doing this book!!! The study looks so cool- It's about how it's hard to be a woman. Another cool thing? A former parent (from when I was teaching preschool) goes to that church and is in that study. She's not just a former parent, she's a sweetheart, I love her girls (I had two of them in my class), and she has always made me feel so comfortable around her. So to see her in this study made me smile. God is cool like that.
I'm looking forward to seeing some more friends next week too! Hooray for friends! :)
Nice to hear someone thinks my life is super exciting. I'm just hoping it gets even more exciting in the near future. ;)
