If while using your litter box, you happen to miss the box all together (and leave "droppings" outside of the box), a great idea would be to kick all the litter outside of the box, to cleverly cover up the droppings that are now on the floor.

I'm not a cat, but I can see why they did that. They probably thought, "Mom's NEVER going to look under the litter! I'll bet she'll never know I missed!"
ReplyDeleteI think that the best reaction would be to lovingly approach each of them and encourage them to do the right thing next time. It's probably best not to punish them for doing something so embarrassing as missing the box. They're probably quite ashamed but playing it cool.
Just my opinion.
