Chat With Molly

Almost every day, you can find me at home, chatting on Yahoo with my sisters. And almost every day, you can find my sister, Molly, the missionary in Texas, at work- chatting with her sisters. Today's chat was especially fun and funny, so she sent it to me in an email for memory's sake. But I copied and pasted (and did some editing) for you all to read. Mind you- it's a chat- so some responses are delayed or overlap each other.

Sarah (2:32 PM): not yet...

Molly (2:32 PM): Ahhh! Go see!!!!

Sarah (2:33 PM): how in the... huh? what is... where did...
Sarah (2:33 PM): HUH!? !
Sarah (2:33 PM): where did that come from!? !? !? !?

Molly (2:33 PM): Heehee!!!!
Molly (2:33 PM): Cute, huh?

Sarah (2:33 PM): well, duh!
Sarah (2:33 PM): it's for sure cute.
Sarah (2:33 PM): but where did you get it?

Molly (2:34 PM): When I went to work in my room at Daddy's, I grabbed a ton of photos from my bedroom to go through at home. This was in there!
Molly (2:34 PM): It's actually a full Rugh- girl and Helen and Regina picture with a cute snowman, but I cropped and blurred.

Sarah (2:35 PM): oh! how funny!

Molly (2:35 PM): Aren't we precious?
Molly (2:35 PM): I love how you're hugging me!

Sarah (2:35 PM): i see regina. but i couldn't figure out where we were or anything!

Molly (2:35 PM): Cool stuff, yo.
Molly (2:35 PM): Fo shizzle.

Molly (2:38 PM): Wouldn't it be funny if in August we took another photo posed like that? Only without the snowman and neighbors?
Molly (2:38 PM): But that pose?
Molly (2:38 PM): We could do a "Then and Now"

Sarah (2:38 PM): aw, we'd be so... weird.
Sarah (2:38 PM): jk.
Sarah (2:38 PM): we can if you want.

Molly (2:39 PM): Oh. We already ARE!

Sarah (2:39 PM): oh!
Sarah (2:39 PM): i have a funny story like that... but it's too long to type.
Sarah (2:39 PM): lol

Molly (2:39 PM): Aw... you can type it.

Sarah (2:39 PM): so jeff's uncle took a pic of the kids
Sarah (2:39 PM): they're all grown up- high school and college age.
Sarah (2:39 PM): but he set it all up to look JUST LIKE a photo that had been taken of them as kids!
Sarah (2:40 PM): they wore the same kind of colors as they had as kids, had the same "props" and it was totally set up! they even had the same expressions as they did as kids.
Sarah (2:40 PM): it was so so so so cute.
Sarah (2:40 PM): a very cute idea.

Molly (2:40 PM): That is really cute! We should do that with our "Christmas skit" picture... with the bloomers on the heads and all!!!

Molly (2:40 PM): (JK)

Sarah (2:41 PM): oh no.

Molly (2:41 PM): Remember one time when Daddy got home from work and we dragged him to the basement to watch our show?
Molly (2:41 PM): And we hadn't rehearsed it, but we set up the stage and had costumes ready?

Sarah (2:42 PM): oh yes.

Molly (2:42 PM): And we put two white plastic chairs on either side of the pole for the audience?
Molly (2:42 PM): And we kept going and going and going with ridiculous dialogue until Daddy clapped and said, "Are you hungry? Should we have supper? "
Molly (2:42 PM): He's such a sport.
Molly (2:43 PM): I was remembering that the other day.
Molly (2:43 PM): We were so cool.

Molly (2:43 PM): Remember when we played school, and I bought all these candies at the dollar store for my "class," but you wouldn't be in my class... so I had pretend students, and I ate the candies myself... except for the ones that got lost, and found later melted all over the kitchen stuff.
Molly (2:44 PM): HAHAHAHA!!!! I don't remember that part! That's brilliant!

Sarah (2:44 PM): you're a weirdo.
Sarah (2:44 PM): and fyi-
Sarah (2:44 PM): i WAS in your class... you DID give me candies.
Sarah (2:44 PM): so there.

Molly (2:44 PM): Yeah, but you quit before the leaf project started.
Molly (2:44 PM): That was gonna be the BEST!

Sarah (2:44 PM): remember how we always did school pictures.

Molly (2:45 PM): No!
Molly (2:45 PM): Did we?

Sarah (2:45 PM): but it was film, so we always stopped playing school before they got developed. lol.

Molly (2:45 PM): HAHAHA!!!! How funny!
Molly (2:45 PM): And our family photo albums of cut out people from magazines!

Sarah (2:45 PM): you're right, tho. we always did leaf projects. with pine needles and stuff.

Molly (2:45 PM): Definitely pine needles involved.

Sarah (2:45 PM): yep!

Molly (2:45 PM): Lots.

Sarah (2:45 PM): sticky.

Molly (2:46 PM): Dirty.

Sarah (2:46 PM): oh. and don't forget the moldy bread experiment...

Molly (2:46 PM): Hahahaha!!!!

Sarah (2:46 PM): like we didn't know what would happen...
Sarah (2:46 PM): we had to do it every time.

Molly (2:46 PM): Right! ... SURPRISE!!! MOLD!

Sarah (2:46 PM): lol

Molly (2:46 PM): And one time we forgot to check for it!

Sarah (2:46 PM): or the moth thing

Molly (2:46 PM): Daddy found it by the napkins!

Molly (2:46 PM): We always killed the caterpillar.

Sarah (2:46 PM): lol! that's funny!!!
Sarah (2:46 PM): yeah.

Molly (2:48 PM): I'm so glad you remember this stuff, too. Whenever I talk about it with Matt or friends, I feel like I'm crazy, and they always laugh so hard because we had so much fun as kids. I mean SERIOUSLY we had fun. Our lives were great.

Molly (2:49 PM): Yeah, but Katie had the best ideas, usually.

Sarah (2:49 PM): pretty much.

Molly (2:49 PM): She helped things stay fun.
Molly (2:49 PM): Remember her cup of coffee? ? ?

Sarah (2:49 PM): we're the way we are today because of katie's genius ideas.

Molly (2:49 PM): (HOT water? )
Molly (2:49 PM): True.

Sarah (2:50 PM): oh yes. it was nasty, but it made me feel so important.

Molly (2:50 PM): Me too.
Molly (2:50 PM): Remember the airplane ride?

Sarah (2:50 PM): oh yes.

Molly (2:50 PM): (Not to CA, but to... our house? )

Sarah (2:50 PM): i was sad.
Sarah (2:50 PM): and running away... in the wagon.

Molly (2:50 PM): I was at first, but they planned that so well!

Sarah (2:51 PM): but we couldn't go past the sign, so we kept going back and forth.

Molly (2:51 PM): Oh. Running away in the wagon... Hmmmm....
Molly (2:51 PM): That wasn't too productive.
Molly (2:51 PM): Weird how we couldn't imagine disobeying, but we could still run away.
Molly (2:51 PM): ?

Sarah (2:52 PM): oh yes.
Sarah (2:52 PM): ummm... what else?
Sarah (2:52 PM): when we told pam you had a twin brother...

Molly (2:52 PM): I KNOW!!!
Molly (2:52 PM): I thought of that last night!!!
Molly (2:53 PM): And when we realized that we could make Barbie money!!!!

Sarah (2:53 PM): yep!

Molly (2:53 PM): (After Katie had monopolized the town with her own money that we got a small fraction of...)
Molly (2:53 PM): I think USUALLY she divided it up fairly, but sometimes I really wondered.
Molly (2:53 PM): And if I'm not mistaken, I think you were usually her crony in that department.
Molly (2:53 PM): Hoarding the money.
Molly (2:53 PM): Ahem.

Sarah (2:54 PM): huh?
Sarah (2:54 PM): nah...
Sarah (2:54 PM): not me.

Molly (2:54 PM): That's why I only played with one Barbie... because I couldn't AFFORD a whole family.

Sarah (2:54 PM): i was always honest. seriously.
Sarah (2:54 PM): you're a nerd.

Molly (2:54 PM): You were NOT always honest.
Molly (2:54 PM): Hey...

Sarah (2:54 PM): yes i was!

Molly (2:54 PM): Remember the masking tape?
Molly (2:54 PM): The line that you drew down the room?
Molly (2:54 PM): You got the dressers and the closet on your side.

Sarah (2:55 PM): SO! you got the bed!

Molly (2:55 PM): True.

Sarah (2:55 PM): ugh.
Sarah (2:55 PM): we're in a fight.

Molly (2:55 PM): But that was the only thing I could keep messy! I couldn't let my mess be on your side!!!!

Sarah (2:55 PM): go to your corner of the tiny bedroom!

Molly (2:55 PM): So... my bed got messy.

Molly (2:55 PM): HAHAHA!!!!

Sarah (2:55 PM): you're a goof ball.

Molly (2:55 PM): You too.

Sarah (2:56 PM): nah- mostly you

Molly (2:56 PM): Remember ice skating on the driveway?
Molly (2:56 PM): I learned that isn't a NORMAL childhood memory.

Sarah (2:56 PM): oh! really?
Sarah (2:56 PM): i thought it was?

Molly (2:56 PM): Having ice skates that fit was so important, but not because we went to the polar dome, but because of our iced- over driveway.
Molly (2:57 PM): Or our backyard!
Molly (2:57 PM): (BEST WINTER EVER!)

Sarah (2:57 PM): like people that had money could go to real rinks.
Sarah (2:57 PM): but we had to make our own!
Sarah (2:57 PM): which was TOTALLY AWESOME because we could play as long as we wanted, come back out after lunch, and do it every day!!!
Sarah (2:57 PM): daddy was nice to let us ruin his driveway.

Molly (2:58 PM): Yeah... but the WINTER ruined it... not us, right?

Sarah (2:58 PM): oh- i just meant that he had to park in the street or else slide into the driveway during all that...
Sarah (2:59 PM): lol.

Molly (2:59 PM): Oh! RIGHT!
Molly (2:59 PM): I think he got a kick out of you and Jess with your twirls, skating up and down the driveway.

Sarah (2:59 PM): whatev.

Molly (3:00 PM): The more I remember about our fun, the more I remember how much Daddy got a kick out of us.
Molly (3:00 PM): I used to think I was always annoying, but I think he really liked us a ton.
Molly (3:00 PM): Not just LOVED us... but liked us, too.

Sarah (3:00 PM): i think so.

Molly (3:00 PM): And all those things he'd do with us.
Molly (3:01 PM): I was remembering how he'd drive the van to the outfield view of the softball field, and watch my games.

Sarah (3:02 PM): and walk us to trout park to watch games.
Sarah (3:02 PM): and sherbet on the porch.
Sarah (3:02 PM): and g&j's on the way home from church.
Sarah (3:02 PM): or arby's

Molly (3:07 PM): Yeah!
Molly (3:08 PM): Rally's after games!
Molly (3:08 PM): (YUM!)
