Psalm 139

Some people seem to have it all... good looks, brains, great singing voice, artistic abilities, children, etc... I don't like feeling like I don't measure up. I also don't like feeling jealous. Jealousy is a sin. And I've struggled with it for a long time.

When I find myself admiring somebody else (or being jealous of somebody else), I get hard on myself in two ways: In one way, I'm hard on myself because I just don't seem to measure up. In another way, I'm hard on myself because I've caught myself being ungrateful for the way God HAS made me and being trapped in a sinful pattern of jealousy.

I've been feeling like this a lot lately. I know it's wrong. And I try to hold onto the truths I know...

Psalm 139:13-16
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

  1. P.S. I don't know if you have an accurate mirror; YOU are GORGEOUS. Your ears may be broken, too. You have one of the PUREST voices I've ever heard. Have you seen your house? DEFINITELY an artist's touch there. AND, last time I checked, you were about to get a child. No?

I think your measuring stick needs to be checked. You are one of the neatest people I know, Sarah. You excel in so many more areas than you know.

Fix your stick. Or pitch it. Or, as they say in Texas, "Chunk the stick."

    I love you.

    AND...
"First of all, He loves you.
    Secondly, He loves you.
Thirdly, He loves you. And that is all it takes."

  2. I can't wait for you to see what God has in store for you. I don't say that as if I already know what it is...I say that because I know He has plans...for prosperity, for hope, for a future, FOR YOU!
Thank you for your visit. I'm honored you would make the time to be here. I love you so much!
