Last night was my first night of the new year and new schedule to babysit at ECDC during their training meetings. (For info on what ECDC is: http://www.elgincdc.org/)
It was really neat! I was a little bit worried about doing it (not sure why, exactly). But I had a ton of fun with the kiddos. We had 6 kids last night. The oldest was in 2nd grade. Then Little M was one of them (5 yrs) and then we had two 2 yr olds, a 1 yr old, and a baby that was 2 weeks old! I was pretty much in seventh heaven.
I know- you're probably thinking "Go to your sister, Katie's house and you'll have the same thing, only with one more kid!" But I don't know... something was so different. Maybe the cultural diversity? I LOVE diversity. There were two little African American girls that I could've just kept forever and ever. I got to hold the newborn, and my heart melted. I sat in the rocking chair holding him and admiring his tiny features. I interacted with the other children while holding him and I thought "This is sooooooo too comfortable for me." I guess I'm ready!
