They Are Watching Us...

Last Friday I was Little M's house getting her ready for school. Before we left for school, she wanted to do a floor puzzle with me. So, I got down with her on the floor and we worked this puzzle. While we were on the (hardwood) floor, she kept complaining about her knees. "Ooh. My knees." She'd say, without wincing or without holding her knees. She did this a few times. I kind of ignored it.

On our way out, we have to go down a large flight of (steep) stairs. We were going down the stairs and she kept saying "Oh, my knees!" I finally asked her if I should take her to the hospital instead of to school. She laughed and said that she was fine.

As I thought about it, I recall something...

Little M's mom is a little bit older (not old per se, but not in her 20s). And I have heard her complain of her knees when she has to get down on the floor or when she walks those stairs. Hmmm...

Be careful! They're watching us!

Then last night, I had Little M with me. I asked her if she was going to be a mom when she grew up. She said yes, that she'd like to have lots of kids. I pretended to get excited as I asked "Oh cool! Can I babysit them?" She said I could. But she quickly added "I'm going to go to Florida for a really long time, though." I asked her if I had to watch her kids that entire time. She added "Yeah, because my doctor said I need to stay in Florida."

Florida? My doctor said? I think I know who she's repeating this time...

Be careful! They're watching us!
