5 days until Jeffrey's birthday. He's going to be 26! Sometimes I feel a little jealous of him... I'm a year and 9 mos older than he is, and so a few months after he turns 26, I'll turn 28. And I just don't like that. It's not fair. But what's worse is that he walks around like an old man and complains about being soooooooooooooooooooooooo old. Ugh. Do not even talk to me about it, Mister!
And then about 10 more days until we leave for vacation! I'm looking forward to it. Can't wait! I won't be blogging from vacation, though. Sorry about that. Neither of us have a laptop, so we just have to meet you back here when we get home. And yes, I'll try to have some pictures for you!
Oh! And about 15 days until Jeffrey and I celebrate 3 yrs of married bliss. (Right, Honey? It's bliss, right? Just say yes.) Sometimes this man makes me absolutely crazy and some days he makes me very very angry. But God could not have found me a better guy... somebody that loves me no matter what. Somebody that can look past my flaws and issues. Somebody that makes me laugh, and that I can make laugh too! Somebody that appreciates my silly, quirky side. Somebody that loves God and studies His word. He's a wonderful man. These 3 years have gone so quickly. Seems like just yesterday that Jeffrey was only 23 and we were getting married...lol. I had to throw his young age back in there again. Doesn't 23 sound so young to be getting married!?! Poor guy. Did he even have a clue what he was getting himself into?
I have to tell you something funny...
Last night, Jeff took me on a "surprise" date. I don't even want to tell you about the date, because you might roll your eyes. (It did have to do with grocery shopping and also getting ice cream... okay, so I told you.) On the way home, I was very hyper. Maybe it was the sugar? Maybe the excitement of all the groceries... finding low sodium foods and flax seed? Whatever it was, I was crazy. Jeff wanted to listen to a CD with Queen on it. The two songs we listened to were Bohemian Rhapsody and Another One Bites the Dust. Now, I have a very wide background when it comes to music. I know most any kind of music. Many of you might be a tad shocked to find out that I know Queen's music. I'd like to thank (or blame?) my good friend, Mike, for that. I grew up with Mike's (strange?) music, and he sure broadened my horizons... probably further than my dad would've wanted. LOL. So... thanks to Mike, I know Queen songs.
On the way home, we were listening to these songs, and I totally surprised Jeff... I belted out (yes, at the top of my lungs) the lyrics to these songs, head banging, singing the instrumental sections, and squealing along. I was pretty proud of myself for remembering these songs all these years. And I think Jeff was impressed. I think that just might have been the first time he ever saw that side of me. And maybe, he just might never want to see it again. We'll see... I might have to pull out my sweet singing moves again someday soon.
Until then, you can find me this week on stage at church... I'll be singing with the praise team. A-hem. Yeah. I am JUST that good.
Sounds like you've been watching Wayne's World, Sarah! ah-ah-ah! You are a shovel!
ReplyDeleteYou've got singing skills.
ReplyDeleteI was 21 when I got married, and I'll be 26 in November...some days I feel really old...like the day that my brother moved into Judson. He's not old enough to be in college...I'm glad that you're feeling better. Love you gril!
