Okay- you know how I try to be consistent about writing my blog posts on Mondays to keep up with MckMama's "Not Me! Monday!" ??? Well, I had a pretty good day today, I want to tell you about my "Yes Me's!" instead. And, since it is my blog and everything... I will allow myself to do whatever I'd like. :)
* I did in fact make a list of what I wanted to accomplish today... and I did get most of it done!
* I did finally run an errand that I have been postponing for days, even weeks... this errand was to the GO GREEN Thrift store in Dundee. They take donations and give you store credit. I had a bunch of stuff gathered and I kept meaning to make the trip. I finally went today, got $16 in store credit, and purchased some new tops, a new skirt, kitty litter liners, a crocheted bed skirt, and a Dora sheet (for Little M when she sleeps over). I did have to pay $5 of my own money... but it was well worth it.
* I did get rid of the cat "potty" that Little M and I found in the garden out front. That was gross, and it badly needed to be rid of.
* I did take Sydney (the big cat) in to get weighed, and he did go down a little bit more! He's now 18lbs 10oz... which they are happy about so far! We're still hoping he'll lose more.
* I did spend over an hour in prayer and Bible reading/studying time. (One of my new goals for each day!)
* I did give my niece the toy lap top that I had gotten for her off of Freecycle, and yes, it does work. (I could not get it to work when I first got it... but then realized yesterday that it has an on/off button. Go figure!)
* I did go on a date with Jeffrey tonight. We picked up some drinks from McDonald's. I got an iced coffee (mmmm!), and he got a coke. We went to Lord's Park and enjoyed our drinks awhile we fed our stale bread to the ducks and geese. Then we sat on the bench and talked about our wedding (we had our wedding reception there!) and talked about our upcoming vacation. Afterward, we got up and walked around a bit- looking at the pavilion there (where our reception was held), and remembering where we did each little thing. ("This is where we took a picture of us kissing." "This is where my mom took my bobby-pins out of my hair." "This is where we cut our cake.")
* After our date, we came home and we did have a bonfire in our back yard! It had been ages since we last did that, and I have really been missing it. And believe it or not, our stray kitties were out- well, 3 of the 4. One of the kittens was MIA (missing in action). But it was so funny to see the one kitten totally not afraid of the fire. He (or she?) came right up and sat across from Jeff and I- watching the fire like he belonged there!
* I did make a yummy supper tonight. I sometimes get too lazy to cook... so it was exciting that I had enough energy to make supper. And yes, I did save some for my daddy.
* During our bonfire, my dad did stop by and shared some treats with us as well as helped us get the fire blazing. It was nice to spend a little time with him.
* My sister (Molly- the one in Texas) did call me tonight, and we were able to talk about life. It was so good to hear her voice and to catch up a little bit.
So- that's my happy day! What about you? What happened in your day that made you smile?
I was able to sit down and have a meal with all of my roommates, something that has been difficult because of our different time schedules. It was cool to catch up and laugh with them.
ReplyDeleteI went to the gym again today and was able to talk with Robb on the phone a long time. It was a good day. We need little reminders like this sometimes, huh? It brought a smile to me, good idea!
Good job, girl!!!
ReplyDeleteNot to burst your bubble at all, but the girls and I ran to the store today, and on our way out of the parking lot we saw a sign that said Go Green was having a 1/2 Off Everything sale! I'd never been there before, but I couldn't resist...I got some dresses for E and E and a few shirts for myself for very cheap! I wish they were having that sale yesterday when you stopped in!!!!
