Dorothy and Little M

On Saturday mornings Jeff and I volunteer at a nursing home. We have been doing this for over 5 yrs now, and we really enjoy it. We have made some good friendships with the residents there... one of my favorites is a lady named Dorothy. She can be so stubborn, but you just have to know how to work her. The employees there will tell me that she's not joining us for the game because she just doesn't feel like it. When I approach Dorothy, she says something to me about "where'd you come from?" or "I've been wonderin' where you were..." So I can usually convince Dorothy to anything with or for me. She's so fun. Today, Jeff was in charge of setting up the game- we play a bean bag toss game with them. Well, after one of the rounds, Jeff forgot to set the pins back up. I gave him a hard time and said "Nobody's gonna wanna play if you don't put the pins back up." Then Dorothy said "He's gonna lose his job." We all laughed for a long time after that.


I had Little M today- almost all day. We had a lot of fun together- we bought paint at Sherwin Williams for $3 a can! (Woohoo! Who woulda thought that they'd sell mistinted paint for only $3 a can, and that they'd be sweet enough to add yellow to an off white one for me!?!) We got some new shoes for myself- $4.99! Totally cute! We got some chocolate frozen custard at Culvers. I SO wished I had the camera... Little M was a mess! It totally cracked me up. However- she sure knows how to put away the "ice cream!" We stopped at the library and picked up a movie to watch tonight. I was voting for Mary Poppins, but she voted for Gigi... it's a Christian movie and it was pretty cute. Anyway; we have another big day tomorrow- LIBRARY!
