My devotional book is called "Christ in Our Home." It's a really neat book... it has short little thoughts to read about that go with the Bible verse(s) for that day. Today, the "lesson" went with the book's title. And it really touched my heart. I picked a quote out of it that I wanted to share: "The family that brings Jesus into the home becomes a blessing to the community."
I told you about the girl, Little M, that I've been taking care of. Her mom is in a sticky situation and having a really rough life right now. I was asked (by a different friend) if I could babysit occaisionally for Little M. I said sure, and then my number was passed on to her mom. Ever since, that family has been in my heart and on my mind. When I'm with Little M, the song "Love Her Like Jesus" runs through my head... the chorus... over and over. I didn't really ever listen to all the words in the song until this week... and then I realized it was such a God thing. It was as if that song was written for this family. I have the song on my playlist, if you want to listen... it's a great song!
Then my devotions today just reminded me more and more how much God can work through us to help others. It is a blessing to Little M's mom that we're able to help her out. But it is a blessing to us that we have somebody to be able to help.
I like your music, lady. SOMEtimes I turn it off, cuz your favorites are not always my favorites. (If that were not true, then you wouldn't have to pick out songs, but just play from a list that would be the favorites of everybody!)
ReplyDeleteLast night, the Emorys sang a lot of beautiful songs, including one on your list, Hiding Place. You shoulda been there!
Isn't it great your sink is low enough to allow that cheap labor to do your dishes!!
Keep up the nice blog.
